DIY waste

If your preferred time/date is not available please keep checking for other available slots. If mixed waste and recycling is brought to the site this is limited to four visits per 28 days; for garden waste only, up to 6 visits per 28 days. Mavis Valley Household Waste and Recycling Centre (Tip/Dump)

As of Monday 24 August, fridges and freezers are able to be accepted at the recycling centre and on bulky waste collections. No booking is required to visit the Reuse shops whether donating reuseable items or buying items. Occasionally, slots may be fully booked; for example, over a busy bank holiday.

Bookings can be made for the same day if slots are available, or up to 2 weeks in advance. You must book a slot before visiting this site. You can visit the recycling centre on foot. Make sure you still bring ID and arrive in the vehicle mentioned in the booking. There is a link to cancel your booking in the booking confirmation email.

Over 50% of items brought in black bags are recyclable. Residents bringing in black bags will be asked to open and sort any recyclable items. You must not bring unsorted waste to the Recycling Centre. Closed on Wednesdays & Thursdays.

All users must book in advance from 24 November 2025. You will not be allowed on site without your confirmation email and proof of address e.g. driving licence. Find out about commercial waste charges and how to dispose of commercial hazardous waste. Businesses are required to show their waste carriers licence certificate to staff before disposing of their waste. Businesses transporting waste must be registered as a waste carrier with the Environment Agency in England. Charges for trade waste disposal depend on the type of waste and its gross weight.
